Kia has announced the pricing for its significantly refreshed 2025 EV6, which now boasts US-based manufacturing for most trims and a native North American Charging Standard (NACS) port. Starting at $42,900 before a $1,475 destination fee, the updated EV6 sees only a slight price increase over the outgoing model, considering the substantial list of improvements.

Key Updates and Improvements

The 2025 Kia EV6 undergoes a comprehensive mid-cycle refresh, bringing several notable enhancements:

  • Native NACS Port: All 2025 EV6 models, aside from the GT performance trim, now feature a native NACS charging port, allowing direct compatibility with Tesla Superchargers without the need for an adapter.
  • Charge Port Relocation: Except for the GT model, the charging port has been relocated from the right side to the left side of the vehicle, mirroring Tesla’s placement for easier Supercharger access.
  • Increased Battery Capacity: Both the standard and long-range battery options see an approximate 10% increase in capacity, now at 63 kWh and 84 kWh respectively (up from 58 kWh and 77.4 kWh).
  • Improved Vehicle-to-Load (V2L): The V2L capability has been significantly upgraded to 12kW, a substantial increase from the previous 1.8kW.
  • Design Refresh: The exterior features a redesigned front end with “Star Map” lighting units for a wider appearance, an angular front bumper, a revised hood, three-dimensional taillights, new cladding, and restyled wheels (19- to 21-inches). The interior sees a new steering wheel and an updated center console, alongside dual 12.3-inch displays.

Pricing and Trim Levels

The entry-level 2025 Kia EV6 Light is priced at $42,900, representing a modest $300 increase over the previous year’s base model (before destination). The destination fee has also seen a slight hike of $80. Pricing for other trims includes:

TrimPrice
EV6 Light$42,900 (+$300)
EV6 Light Long Range RWD$46,200 (+$250)
EV6 Light Long Range AWD$50,300 (+$450)
EV6 Wind$50,300 (+$1,600)
EV6 GT-Line$54,200 (+$1,300)
EV6 Wind AWD$54,300 (+$1,700)
EV6 GT-Line AWD$58,900 (+$1,300)
EV6 GT$63,800 (+$2,200)

Notably, the high-performance EV6 GT sees the most significant price increase of $2,200, which Kia attributes to a horsepower boost, now reaching 601 hp.

US Manufacturing and Tax Credit Eligibility

A significant factor in Kia’s ability to maintain relatively small price increases is the onshoring of EV6 production to its facility in West Point, Georgia (excluding the GT trim, which remains built in Korea). This move, likely in response to the US Inflation Reduction Act, also means that most 2025 EV6 trims continue to qualify for the US EV tax credit, further reducing the effective cost for eligible buyers.

Production of the 2025 Kia EV6 is reportedly underway, with deliveries to customers expected to begin soon, although the exact timing has been somewhat delayed compared to typical model year transitions.
